It started with the conception of a class, as I sought to reconnect with my Asian heritage and pay it the proper respect it deserves. My desire to learn more about my identity and the rich traditions that run through my bloodline motivated me to dig deeper and bring to light the history that had been hidden beneath the surface.
Drawing inspiration from both modern and traditional sources, I was particularly struck by the architecture and colors of the Forbidden City. I was captivated by the intricate patterns found in both contemporary and traditional buildings, which influenced my creative vision.
